A training program that qualifies drone pilots and builds a foundation of success for organizations in Canada’s emerging drone workforce.

Our Approach to Drone Training

Our stepped approach supports individuals and organizations alike, from Basic Training to independently managing their own drone programs with confidence.

Both the Basic and Advanced drone pilot training programs blend theory with hands-on experience to equip pilots with the skills to safely conduct drone operations in controlled airspace and complex scenarios. Once training is complete we offer workflow development and crewing services to help you skip the learning pains associated with developing drone operations and programs.

  • What type of data needs to be collected?
  • What flight software is required, if so which one(s)?
  • How will I process the data and produce a deliverable for a client?

Feeling overwhelmed is common when taking on a drone project for the first time. Starting a drone project is a significant undertaking for anyone. It takes time, knowledge, and training to be ready to execute a drone operation. Using a monthly approach, we work with you to develop essential skills such as:

AIRS™ FAQ

  • What does AIRS™ mean?

Advanced Instruction for Real-world Success. The AIRS philosophy trains qualified drone pilots and provides ongoing support for organizations in the early stages of developing their own drone programs.

  • What kind of certification do I need to fly?

To fly a drone over 250g you need at least a basic license. Under 250g you do not need a license, however you must adhere to the same airspace rules as heavier drones.

  • What makes AIRS™ Training different?

We differentiate our training from others by developing certified and qualified pilots, rather than certified only pilots. Through in-person, small cohort, and real-world experience we help pilots build the knowledge and skills to successfully perform complex drone missions.

  • What happens after I finish my training?

Once you finish your training we recommend trying to get as much flying time as possible.

  • Do you offer an online training format?

Yes, we expect to have an online training format ready in Q2 of 2024.
